A NASDAQ-listed internet company that provides data center services for companies, businesses, and organizations, is looking for a Back-end Ruby on Rails Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with upgrading current Ruby on Rails versions, splitting database models, and working on object-oriented coding to design new applications. The company has managed to raise $1.4bn in funding so far and has 8,700 employees globally. This role requires 4+ hours of overlap with the CST time zone.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand complex requirements and develop small and executable sets for delivering to production iteratively while maintaining quality

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and integrating production-level services
- Should have at least 5 years of experience in developing systems and software deploying clean APIs using gRPC or HTTP protocols
- Previous experience working on modern coding languages like Go or Ruby
- Strong knowledge of developing fast feedback loops with CI/CD and testing automation
- Strong knowledge and experience in developing solutions with RabbitMQ for background processing
- Must be able to take charge of upgrading rails versions and splitting database models
- Some experience in breaking apart a monolith into microservices, including switching languages and/or frameworks is desirable
- Prior experience in working with Kubernetes and containers
- Must possess a strategic mindset and ability to execute with a sense of urgency
- Should possess strong communication skills for internal and external solutions
- Experience in working with identity solutions is a plus
- Good understanding of data center, server, and network infrastructure is an added advantage
