Job description

A rapidly-emerging website security solutions provider is looking for an API Development Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for adding features to the platform, performing tests, and helping in deploying REST-based API services. The platform develops solutions to detect and mitigate online safety threats and works with social media companies, advocacy groups and other interested parties to implement them. The core engineering team is composed of engineers who have previously worked at Youtube, Facebook and Pinterest. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to contribute to building solutions that increase work efficiency. The role requires a time overlap with PST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable and efficient REST APIs 
  • Add new features to the API services
  • Perform testing and help deploy REST based API services
  • Help debug and improve scalability, latency, and robustness
  • Reviews design documents and provides feedback
  • Identify potential process improvement areas and recommend approaches

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience working as a software engineer and developing APIs
  • Knowledge of Python 3, and its frameworks such as Flask 
  • Experience with AWS stack (EC2, lambda, SQS, RDS, etc.) databases, Github, Bazel, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience with API backward compatibility and versioning issues
  • Experience with security issues (e.g., implement OWASP best practices) would be preferred
