Job description

A rapidly-growing company operating a next-gen platform with an extensive global user base is looking for an Android Engineer. The engineer will be reviewing the code, design documentation, and commenting on product requirements and mockups. The U.S.-based company is allowing people to join and develop long-lasting communities, never-ending dialogues, and genuine human relationships. The company has managed to raise close to $1.5 bn in funding. This position requires an overlap with the PT time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating architectures and components that provide quick, seamless experiences to users all over the world
  • Work cross-functionally and cross-team to execute technical and business goals and create experiences that people will like
  • Participate throughout the whole development cycle, including the technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Lead a group of smart, quick-thinking, and driven engineers
  • Establish and create standards to optimize developer processes, promote best practices, and assist in coaching and mentoring team engineers to advance their professional growth
  • Learn and develop your technical and non-technical skills on a regular basis
  • Build at least one excellent Android app with a team from start to finish

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 6+ years of Android experience
  • Previous experience working on an app with millions of users
  • Expertise in Java or Kotlin 
  • Accept the challenges of developing data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps in a smartphone's restricted environment
  • Willingness to deviate from the norm and discover new approaches to produce software
  • Passion for creating scalable, well-designed software that improves people's lives throughout the world
  • Expertise in building high-performance feeds-based or media-rich Android apps is a plus
  • Great English communication skills
