Job description

A U.S.-based company that is bringing a sense of community and belonging to everyone in the world through their work on multiple fronts, is looking for an Android Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with driving the technical strategy, architecture, and execution of the platform. The platform aims to help users across the globe to connect over common interests and build lasting relationships with other users. The company has managed to secure more than $1.2bn during their Series F round of funding. This position requires 6+ hours of overlap with the EST/PST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design architectures and build components that deliver fast and smooth experiences to users across the world
  • Work cross-functionally to execute technical and business strategies and build scalable experiences
  • Conduct code reviews and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Mentor and lead a team of fast-moving and motivated engineers
  • Set and define standards that improve developer workflows and recommend best practices
  • Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities
  • Develop data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Extensive experience in Android (Java or Kotlin)
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in Android development
  • Passion for developing scalable and well-designed software that improves people’s lives 
  • Demonstrable experience building Android applications with a team from start to shipment
  • Nice to have some customer experience while dealing with customer products
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
