Android Engineer

A US-based company that has managed to establish a popular content sharing platform is looking for an Android Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for creating best-in-class tooling for moderators on the platform. The company brings 400+ mn people together and enables users to maintain and grow healthy, active communities. The company has managed to raise more than $1bn during their Series F round. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Design architectures and build components that deliver smooth user experiences to users
• Work cross-functionally to execute technical and business strategies and build user experiences
• Contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch
• Conduct code review and design docs, giving feedback on product specifications and mocks
• Work with the leadership to lead a team of fast-moving, and motivated engineers
• Set standards that improve developer workflows recommend best practices and assist in mentoring engineers on the team to further their professional development
• Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 6+ years of relevant experience as an Android engineer
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience in Java and/or Kotlin 
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience building data-intensive and fault-tolerant apps in a constrained environment
• Ability to buck trends and learn new ways to build software
• Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally
• Demonstrable experience building at least one amazing Android app with a team from start to shipment
• Expertise in building high-performance feeds-based or media-rich Android apps
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Proficient in verbal and written English
