Job description

A US-based global software company building innovative and refined device management solutions is looking for an Android Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for actively owning features or systems and defining their long-term health. The company is developing essential cross-platform solutions for mobile devices by leveraging the power of state-of-the-art technologies. This is a long-term full-time position requiring 6+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. The company has managed to raise more than $2.5mn in funding so far. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced applications for the Android platform and devices
  • Transform designs and wireframes into high-quality codes
  • Ensure the high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Troubleshoot to identify bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Keep discovering and implementing new technologies in the applications
  • Work closely with UI and UX designers and other cross-functional teams
  • Make sure the developed application conforms to user specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as an Android engineer
  • Should possess proficiency in Kotlin/Java programming language
  • Must be well-versed with Android design principles, and Android SDK
  • Expertise in working with languages like React Native and Typescript is essential
  • Knowledge of remote data via REST and JSON will be beneficial
  • Ability to work with cloud messaging APIs, background processing, and offline storage is preferred
  • Knowledge of working with third-party libraries and APIs is desirable
  • Good understanding of the general mobile landscapes, trends, and architectures
  • A firm grasp of source control systems like Git, Merging, Branching, Pull Requests, etc. will be helpful
