Job description

One of the largest firms in the gig economy delivering a variety of services with operations in over 900 metropolitan areas worldwide, is looking for an Android Engineer. The candidate will work on the code behind the applications used by millions of people globally. As an engineer, you will directly impact the growth and user's trust by defining and executing the technical roadmap. The company is NYSE-listed with over $25 billion in funding. This is a rare opportunity to collaborate on building scalable solutions and work on some of the most exciting challenges in tech.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop standard development kits to collect signals from devices
  • Carry out integrations with 3rd parties for additional data validations
  • Work on cutting edge technologies to detect objects, to note the size, shape, edges, etc.
  • Develop client-side experiences to scan user documents and collect identity data
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Test code for robustness, edge cases, usability, and general reliability

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven track record of developing, releasing, and maintaining native Java Applications 
  • Deep understanding of the Android SDK
  • Prior experience shipping Android Apps for consumers
  • Familiarity with location libraries, Android permissions, and dependency injection
  • Capable of providing informative opinions about developing for mobile
  • Experience developing location-aware and testing suites for mobile applications
  • Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5
  • Fluency in English with outstanding debugging skills
