Job description

A US-based company that creates online audio-based group exercise classes for anyone with access to exercise equipment, is looking for an Android Developer. The selected candidate will help build and develop the members' experiences for the company’s growing community. The Forbes-accredited firm combines the popularity of group fitness courses with the convenience of taking a session at any time. The company has managed to raise more than $280K during their Series A round of funding. This is a great opportunity for developers to work with a well-established firm and make some rapid career progress.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on building, developing, scaling, and maintaining advanced applications on the Android Mobile app
  • Work on a rapid, iterative, and collaborative development cycle
  • Develop a RESTful ecosystem that supports clients running iOS, WatchOS, Web, and Android
  • Work together with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Efficiently use third-party data sources and APIs
  • Create and execute unit tests on your code, to ensure its robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
  • Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and improve application performance
  • Explore and utilize new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2+ years of relevant experience as an Android developer
  • Experience publishing at least one original Android app
  • Solid experience in software development experience
  • Good experience of working with remote data via REST and JSON
  • Excellent knowledge of Android SDK
  • Good familiarity with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Good knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Experience with Objective C/Swift, and Go that is used for iOS is nice to have
  • Experience working with Bluetooth devices and connectivity is desirable
  • Nice to have some interest in design and typography
