Job description

A US-based fast-growing, venture-backed company that powers thousands of clubs, tournaments, leagues, camps, and facilities, is looking for a Senior Android Developer. The developer will be responsible for executing, and evangelizing software architecture improvements that support key business and technical goals. The platform has a reach of more than 10 million participants nationwide and is the operating system and community for youth and local sports leaders—providing them with the technology and professional network they need to succeed. The company has managed to raise $35mn in funding so far. The company donates a percentage of every dollar spent on their platform back to deserving families and communities. This role requires some overlap with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced level applications for Android OS
  • Transform app design layout and wireframes into high-quality codes
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, and usability of the applications
  • Troubleshoot app bottlenecks and remove bugs and errors
  • Keep learning new approaches and deploy new technologies in developed apps
  • Work alongside UI/UX designers and other developers to streamline development
  • Execute, and convert software architecture improvements to meet business and technical goals
  • Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms
  • Make sure development conforms to end-user specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience as an Android developer
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in using Kotlin 
  • Ability to write clean and testable codes that can be easily maintained
  • Well-versed with Android design principles and SDKs
  • Should be able to utilize third-party libraries and APIs
  • Knowledge of general mobile landscapes, trends, and architectures.
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills
