Job description

A rapidly-growing company that is on a mission to help clients adopt and successfully live a low-carbon lifestyle is looking for an Android Developer. The developer will be in charge of ensuring that the UI is slick and the UX is fluid to match the iOS version. The company helps people concerned about climate change understand and lower their carbon impact. This will be a short-term engagement requiring 4+ hours of overlap with the U.K. time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use Kotlin to create the Android version of the company's already-released iOS app
  • Create an Android version of the business's already-released iOS app
  • Frequently update and update management
  • Work from wireframes with the iOS version in mind
  • Select the architecture that will be used to build the application
  • Using MongoDB's App Services (formerly Realm Sync), integrate with the app's back-end
  • Control the app's upload to the Google Play Store
  • Effectively use and implement the unit testing

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an Android Developer
  • Extensive experience working with Kotlin and MongoDB SDKs
  • Prior experience publishing sustainable Android apps and implementing unit testing
  • Nice to have several years of experience and numerous apps that have been released on the Google Play Store
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
