Job description

A U.S.-based company that is centered on emerging market financial services is looking for a Senior Front-End (Android) Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for engaging in refactoring the current codebase to enhance abstract concepts and customization. The company has given more than $1bn to over 5 million+ customers to help them start or expand their businesses, pay bills, and create more reliable financial lives. The company has successfully raised close to $400 mn in funding. Candidates who would like to contribute to developing and launching large-scale consumer mobile applications are suitable for this role.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide features that are centered on the customer and prioritize stability, and security
  • Create or enhance complex applications features 
  • When integrating with external partners (tracking, payment/KYC, support, etc.), provide guidance
  • Examine design documents, conduct code reviews, and weigh in on implementation decisions made by other technical teams
  • Add, maintain, and expand automation tests to meet code coverage goals

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of software engineering experience in native Android development
  • 4+ years of experience coding in Kotlin
  • Deep understanding of the Android platform’s performance, strengths, and trade-offs
  • Experience developing projects that use dependency injection, preferably Dagger 2
  • Comfortable using reactive development frameworks like RxJava
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of REST API development
  • Solid understanding of software architecture concepts like MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
  • Experience with Agile development processes like Scrum
  • Experience in predictive analysis and machine learning is a plus
  • Good English communication skills
