Job description

A fast-growing company that is on a mission to transform the way people engage in water activities and help them get access to unique boating experiences, is looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer. The developer will be responsible for extending the core features of the platform and fostering a better user experience. The US-based company is building an efficient platform that enables users to discover, browse, book and rent boats, jet skis, yachts, water sport adventures, and fishing excursions. During their Series B round, the company managed to successfully raise more than $32mn in funding. This role requires a significant overlap with the SNST/MST/EST/CST time zones and will be a full-time, long-term position. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of business logic and how it affects feature implementation
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to translate ideas and concepts into technical specifications for features
  • Make a timeline and divide projects into deliverables
  • Prototyping to address high-risk areas as soon as possible
  • Assist in the planning and execution of cross-platform deployments
  • Create low-defect code with extensive test coverage
  • Thinking ahead and making plans for feature expansion
  • Integrate third-party APIs, such as payment gateways and Google Places
  • Improving PageSpeed scores by focusing on page load times
  • Write performant code with a focus on providing a quick mobile web experience

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
  • Must have experience in React with Hooks, TypeScript, Sass/CSS, and Next.js
  • Familiarity with Web Workers, WebSockets, Node.js, Webpack, Mobx, and Docker is nice to have
  • Expertise in writing Automated Tests is preferred
