Senior Front-End Engineer

One of the most innovative and forward-looking teams facilitating an Internet of free, independent communities at a US-based, industry-leading enterprise, is looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to join the team. The engineer will utilize sound expertise to work at the intersection of engineering, product, design, and business problems. The team is committed to discovering new monetization models that will restore the balance of power online, giving it back to the people. This is an excellent opportunity for the selected candidate to work in a fast-paced environment. It requires at least 3 hours overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be a strong individual contributor and lead the engineering and product discussions
• Build new features and products into the web app using modern front-end tools 
• Work directly with designers and product managers to build delightful user experiences
• Be responsible for the engineering projects across all development phases
• Solve complex front-end challenges around performance and code reusability while continuously improving the code quality
• Collaborate and engage in discussions around complex topics with several audiences
• Work closely with the back-end and native mobile engineers to write design docs and design effective APIs

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4+ years of relevant professional experience building web applications
• Must have sound experience in JavaScript, Typescript, or both
• Proficiency in Redux and GraphQL
• Excellent problem solver, good communicator, independent, with an entrepreneurial and growth mindset
• Demonstrable skills with HTML and CSS 
• Ability to learn extensively and bring other valuable experience to the team
• Profound communication skills 
• In-depth capacity to work effectively on all software development aspects 
• Nice to have some experience working with React
• Holistic understanding of software systems 
• Core expertise in building accessible features
• Solid skills with web applications that work seamlessly and performantly in mobile browsers
• Proven track record of handling complex animations and transitions to create elegant UIs
