Job description

A U.S.-based organization that is providing the education and workforce communities with reliable data and solutions by leveraging transformative technologies, is looking for an AWS DevOps Architect. The selected candidate will be in charge of creating a migration plan that is prioritized and maps applications to fundamental business capabilities. The organization is on a mission to significantly influence learner achievement in the future by reducing the administrative constraints and expenses associated with reporting and exchanging student data. Job Responsibilities:

  • Give the existing cloud migration strategy a direction and a vision
  • Create a governance structure and implement center of excellence best practices for moving to the cloud and deploying applications
  • Work together with the data teams to strengthen and improve our data storage and pipelines
  • Identify dependencies and evaluate the functional/business fit of more than 100 internal apps in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Create a high-level, three to five-year roadmap for modernizing applications and using the cloud
  • Establish the architecture for a multi-layered enterprise platform with a focus on the needs of the user
  • To maintain company continuity, identify weaknesses in the architecture and data processing used today
  • Assemble and oversee a development team to carry out the plan and architecture as specified
  • Make sure there is cross-functional coordination, and encourage integrated development methods
  • Sync IT with business objectives and streamline the IT environment
  • Enhance customer experiences by streamlining company procedures
  • Establish a global technological architecture for the company


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as an AWS DevOps Architect
  • 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud architecture and DevOps practices
  • Extensive prior experience in software development
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Suites, like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
  • Prolific experience working with Storage (S3, EBS, and EFS)
  • In-depth knowledge of Databases like DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift
  • Extensive knowledge of Networking, including VPC, Direct Connect, API Gateway, and Route 53 as well as Security technologies like IAM, Cognito, WAF, Shield, and KMS
  • Demonstrable experience with management and monitoring utilizing CloudWatch, Config, and Trusted Advisor
  • In-depth knowledge of microservices and application integration using ECS, EKS, App Mesh, Step Functions, SNS, and SQS
  • Extensive development and deployment experience while utilizing CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, and SAM
  • Solid understanding of Serverless technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge
  • Strong knowledge of Container Orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and EKS
  • Demonstrable experience with Monitoring and Logging using CloudWatch and ELK Stack
  • Comprehensive experience working with application and service architecture using Mesh, Istio, and Linkerd
  • Prolific experience with CI/CD technologies like Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy
  • Prolific experience with Container Orchestration using Kubernetes and AWS EKS
  • Demonstrated competence with AWS tools and services for cloud migration
  • In-depth knowledge of modern software development techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
