Job description

A fast-emerging startup that focuses on transforming music in the growing digital world is looking for a Senior Go/Kafka Developer. The developer will be primarily responsible for developing Go packages and programs that are scalable and maintainable. The company has developed a platform that connects with artists, music producers, and songwriters, all to empower music creatives at every level. The ideal candidate is one who has an in-depth understanding of Golang and can leverage and exploit the language’s unique paradigms, idioms, and syntax. This will be a full-time, long-term position, and candidates with great interest and curiosity for the music industry are well-suited for the role. It requires some time overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Go packages and programs are well documented and have appropriate test coverage
  • Collaborate to solve problems, work on sophisticated design, and build quality products
  • Be committed and work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Product Design, and additional Engineering resources
  • Help build the product by solving complex challenges in a simple, elegant way

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-8+ years of relevant professional experience as a software developer 
  • Sound proficiency in Go programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms
  • Familiarity with common Goroutine and channel patterns
  • Experience with the full suite of Go frameworks and tools
  • Ability to write clean and effective Godoc comments
  • Understanding of code versioning tools and Kafka
  • Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through code
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment with cross-functional partners
