Job description

A U.S.-based company providing efficient payments options without POS upgrades is looking for a Firmware Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining stable firmware and conducting code reviews. The company is enabling merchants to attract and retain customers by empowering them with data that is otherwise trapped by POS. The company has managed to raise more than $3mn during their Seed round of funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide the product development team with technical assistance and training
  • Design the architecture and deliver quality codes
  • Test firmware releases
  • Write and maintain firmware documentation
  • Understand the business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Collaborate with customers to address issues

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a firmware engineer
  • Demonstrable experience with Rust, Linux, and embedded development tools like buildroot
  • Prior experience in developing and debugging ARM-based hardware and firmware
  • Experience in researching new puzzles and proposing solutions
  • A knack for balancing speed and quality
  • An appreciation for clean and well-documented code
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
