Job description

A US-based company developing a powerfully simple way for businesses to secure and control their data is looking for a C++ Windows Kernel Driver Developer. The selected candidate will be working on implementing efficient file system drivers and building Windows services that run in userspace. The company is developing a simple, low-cost method of embedding security into files and ensuring that sensitive data is never accessed without permission. The company has managed to raise more than $1mn during their Seed round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective file system drivers and develop Windows services capable of running in user space
  • Work in the company’s Product and Development teams and with team members located across the globe
  • Actively learn the software solution’s operating environment to define constraints and risks
  • Utilize strong debugging and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of any software defect
  • Analyze and review technical documentation from numerous products, including Windows, to understand software solutions interacting with components in these systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a C++ Developer
  • Must be experienced in C/C++, especially focusing on writing thread-safe, efficient, and secure code
  • Basic understanding of user-mode/kernel interactions and windows driver development experience (also known as mini-filter drivers)
  • Must have prior experience developing windows services in the user space
  • Vast experience in unit testing and test-driven development
  • Must be experienced with windows installer development and desktop development
  • Prior experience in quality product delivery and being involved in all stages of software development: ideation, design, application, delivery, and support
  • Must know about server-side and client web application development (REST and JavaScript) 
  • A basic knowledge of Public Key Cryptography, Symmetric Key Cryptography, TLS, and other cryptographic terms is a plus
  • Well-versed in written and spoken English
