Job description

A US-based company that is developing an efficient finance platform and public marketplace for small business bonds, is looking for a Technical Engineering Manager. The selected candidate will be tasked with facilitating the collaboration between engineers, product owners, and designers. Small businesses can use the platform to raise funding within their communities, and regular investors can use it to boost their wealth. They have managed to raise $15mn+ during their Seed round of funding.  This position requires some overlap with the CST/PST time zone and will be a full-time, long-term role. 

  

Job Responsibilities:


  • Work with the product and tech team to architect and develop a platform to trade the company’s bonds 
  • Develop the secondary market taking into account contingent technology-dependent product features in line with the go-to-market plan
  • Build two new payments systems – one for the primary market, and the other for the secondary market
  • Work across a cross-functional team to integrate more product virality into the company’s product-technology stack
  • Work with the team to develop a product roadmap to accomplish goals
  • Manage the day-to-day project tasks of the engineering team

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Must have extensive experience in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Node.js, and Java
  • At least 8+ years of experience in fintech technology development and/or architecture
  • Demonstrable experience managing a team of back-end and front-end engineers
  • Solid experience building iOS and Android fintech products are preferred 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial exchanges, broker-dealer activities, and/or alternative trading systems is a plus 
  • Proficient knowledge of development best practices
  • Experience designing secure and scalable cloud infrastructure
