Job description

A fast-growing e-commerce company focused on improving the lives of caregivers and their loved ones, is looking for a Storefront Technical Lead. The selected candidate will join the team and be responsible for empowering and improving customers’ shopping experience and enabling the flow of products. The engineer will have a major impact and gain exposure to all components of the comprehensive e-commerce platform. The platform provides support for independent caregivers and has raised up to $30 mn in funding so far. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing start-up and contribute to developing innovative solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in new feature implementation, code reviews, and the possibility of content management system integration
  • Migrate a BigCommerce-hosted theme to headless on Next.js
  • Take ownership of projects and communicate often and clearly on decisions made, roadblocks, and options to overcome them
  • Work closely with the engineering team and cross-functionally with leaders and individual contributors from the marketing, merchandising, and operations teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of Vanilla JavaScript web along with React and other related technologies and frameworks
  • Must be skilled in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and web performance
  • Must have a solid understanding and knowledge of technical SEO
  • Prior experience with Github is necessary
  • An in-depth understanding of the deployment process (Vercel, Github actions, or similar)
  • Must have a sound knowledge of how the web works, how a network request works on the client-side and server-side, as well as the differences between them
  • Demonstrative skills with Visual Studio Code on Mac is preferred
  • Nice to have prior experience with E-commerce, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Google Analytics, or similar
  • Knowledge of Jira along with BigCommerce, Shopify, or similar is nice to have
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
