Job description

A fast-growing cloud security platform providing smart web and data protection solutions is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer (Web Proxy Developer). As an engineer, you will join the team as a key member and contribute to supporting the products. The company is trusted by Fortune 100 companies and has raised over $740 mn from top investors. The company is spread across several locations and has gained recognition as an active contributor to the cloud security industry. The selected candidate will carry out evaluations using state-of-the-art techniques to detect activities and implement advanced policies. It requires at least 6 hours of time overlap with a preference for individuals based in Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Improve the cloud-based security solution for the enterprise SaaS applications
  • Build high performance and scalable data path security solutions
  • Design, develop and maintain the Secure Web Gateway solutions
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of the cloud services
  • Collaborate with the members of the team and translate the requirements to engineering design spec 
  • Enhance the DPI engine to support the requirements
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders/large cross-functional teams as part of work delivery 
  • Work with customer support & quality engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues 
  • Work closely with the SRE/Operations teams to effectively monitor the health of the services across all data centers
  • Identify and mitigate issues as well as during cloud release rollouts & upgrades
  • Plan, research, innovate & recommend new solutions/technologies for improvements
  • Participate in the complete product life cycle starting with research on various requirements
  • Understand and define functional specifications
  • Develop concrete designs and implement with high quality

Job Requirements:

  • B.Tech /M.Tech degree from a recognized and accredited university/college
  • 8+ years of experience in network or cloud security solutions 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and strong programming background
  • Proficiency in designing, coding, and debugging in C/C++
  • Experience with HTTP/HTTPS, web proxies, and TCP/IP networking
  • Knowledge of various development/debugging tools (e.g.github, gdb, make, profiling, memory/debugging)
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix based systems
  • Proficient in Python programming and web data formats like JSON, XML, MIME, etc.
  • Knowledge of DLP & encryption techniques
  • Experience developing enterprise-class security products such as web proxies/firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc
  • knowledge of CI/CD & Dev-Ops tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in an open, transparent, and consistent manner with team and co-workers
  • Ability to respond to the needs of customers proactively and promptly
  • Achievement orientated and willing to take responsibility for actions
  • High level of creativity to foster originality of ideas
