Job description

A rapidly-growing company developing an NFT platform to unite the most established names and famous brands in sports, entertainment, and culture, is looking for a Staff API/Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be playing a leading role in maintaining, refining, and growing the company’s APIs and core services. The U.S.-based company is determined to build a world-class NFT, unique digital collections, and experiences for users. This position requires 6-8+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive and execute several initiatives simultaneously
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and have opinions on the features you’re working on 
  • Feature development for core infrastructure and APIs, from ideation to deployment
  • Take charge of architecture planning (on the monolith, microservice, etc.) and integration 
  • Write code, make sure it gets tested, and see it through to deployment
  • Maintain and scale the existing services
  • Establish a back-end that interacts with a plethora of services and platforms, encodes media in numerous ways, leverages queueing to manage real-time IPFS pinning and token minting, etc.
  • Contribute to conversations around scaling and growing the services
  • To execute platform requirements, collaborate with UX engineers and product managers
  • Create software that is reliable, scalable, well-designed, simple to maintain, and well-tested
  • Push and refine the company’s proprietary technologies, platforms, and creative practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Prior experience building APIs and back-end services using Node.js, Typescript, MongoDB, or similar technologies
  • Prolific experience developing and/or integrating decentralized technologies, infrastructure, and data systems
  • Experience using Git and version control as and when needed
  • Eagerness to scale complicated things and work on web3
  • Excellent English communication and collaboration skills
  • Nice to have some prior startup experience 
  • Adaptable and accountable in a dynamic environment
  • Commitment to long-term impact
