Job description

A fast-growing company that has been revolutionizing the HR industry with its cloud-based software solutions, is looking for a Senior Back-end Developer. The developer will be working on tasks related to the administrative internal parts of the company’s payroll product and manage company organizational structure, HR functions and payroll calculation. The company has raised funding worth $3.5mn and has established its presence by designing and building innovative software solutions for all the small and medium-sized business’s HR needs. This role requires at least 4+ hours of overlap with the GMT time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Be creative in solving problems, be pragmatic in solutions, understand that code is not everything
Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack
Quickly discover, learn about and adopt third party tools as and when required
Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of existing solutions
Assist in task planning and estimation
Actively write code and review pull requests from other members of the team
Closely collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
6+ years of back-end development experience or equivalent expertise that match the role
Proactively seek out information from all available sources and partners
Must be at expert level with Ruby, SQL and Ruby on Rails
Must be able to make modifications to existing back-end RoR REST APIs, add new ones as necessary
Consume and make recommendations for improvements over existing REST and GraphQL APIs
Must be familiar with Node.js and Typescript to create new GraphQL API endpoints for SQL database back-ends
Should enjoy writing product and technical documents about your work
Prefer working in an established process with agile approach and delivery
