Job description

A U.S.-based company that is on a mission to transform existing networking solutions and unified computing services, is looking for a SONiC Modular Infrastructure Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building large-scale distributed systems while engaging with open-source communities and technologies. The Silicon Valley-based company's market-leading industrial networking, which was developed specifically for operational technology, helps businesses run more adaptable, safe, and effective operations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Build products by utilizing open-source technologies and pushing the frontiers of silicon architecture and system design
  • Assist with the end-to-end creation of products and the support of manufacturing in a fast-paced work environment and tackle challenging technology
  • Develop, create, and test the SONiC operating system's data center feature set
  • Create control plane software for the SONiC operating system and test it
  • Ensure that the building blocks for distributed software infrastructure are being developed for SONiC and the portfolio platforms of the business
  • Work on building the cloud controller's manageability infrastructure using APIs and models 
  • Help with the SONiC development work on distributed chassis debugging tools

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience as a SONiC Modular Infrastructure Engineer
  • 10+ years of experience working with C and C++ for system software development
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with SONiC (Software for Open Networking In the Cloud)
  • Prior experience with LLDP, notions of SAI, along with notions of EVPN and VXLAN
  • Demonstrable experience with Linux, Network Protocols, and Routing
  • Extensive programming experience with scripting languages such as Python Working knowledge of technologies such as Git, Jira, Jenkins, and open-source CI/CD pipeline  
  • Demonstrable expertise in feature development and the open network operating system SONiC 
  • Working knowledge of databases like Redis
  • Prolific experience with edge networking, cloud networking, and data centers
  • Extensive experience with virtualization and container technologies (VM, Docker, and Kubernetes) 
  • Strong exposure to service provider deployments at the solution level
  • Prior working knowledge of the higher-level network operating system and Kernel development
  • In-depth knowledge of creating and testing software for networking solutions that are fast and scalable 
  • Solid aptitude for resolving issues and troubleshooting service provider networking goods
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
