Job description

A US-based recreation platform that serves 450+ million people and brings communities together through their common interests is looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer (iOS). The engineer will work actively to drive related technical & product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution for one of the largest sites in the world. The online platform enables users to introduce links, share content, and discuss topics of shared interest. It has raised $1bn+ in funding during its Series F round. This is an excellent opportunity for self-directed and innovative engineers to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires 4-5+ hours overlap with the PST time zone

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive related technical, product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution
  • Work cross-functionally with the engineering department and teams to execute on product and business strategy
  • Build novel products and features that the users will love
  • Contribute to the complete development cycle involving the technical design, development, testing, etc. down to the product launch
  • Study code and design docs, implement feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Guide and mentor the team of brilliant and motivated engineers to advance their professional development
  • Indicate standards for better developer workflows and recommend best practices 
  • Be an adept learner to improve your technical and non-technical abilities

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-8+ years of relevant software development experience developing user-facing iOS mobile native applications at scale, using Swift
  • Expertise in Swift and Objective-C
  • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, Rust, or C++
  • Additional knowledge around GraphQL, REST, and HTTP basics 
  • The ability to design maintainable APIs is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
  • Be self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in a fast-paced environment 
  • Passion for building new things and thriving in ambiguity or failure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
