Job description

A well-established company that has managed to develop a beloved OTT platform that has successfully revolutionized the entertainment industry, is looking for a Senior SDET Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for developing shippable solutions and products while working in close collaboration with the technical and product teams to please users. The company’s innovative platform is catering to the growing demands of a global customer base across 16+ languages. The company has managed to secure $225mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take on challenging and fascinating issues at scale and make a difference in the entrepreneurial world
  • Efficiently validate the functional, scale, performance, and security aspects of the platform 
  • Create and propose novel ways to automate software testing that are effective and scalable
  • To ensure effective release testing, make use of your expertise in agile development and testing techniques

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as an SDET engineer
  • 6+ years of experience with the Agile/Scrum development process and software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of how to write test cases and plans that are clear, simple, and comprehensive
  • Practical understanding of automated testing technologies and both white-box and black-box testing
  • Extensive Java, Python, and/or any other scripting language proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of OOPs concepts, REST APIs, and their use
  • Prolific experience with the build release and deployment sequence, especially for iOS and Android
  • Prior experience developing back-end tools or frameworks to test REST APIs, microservices, data migration, failover scenarios, and blue-green deployment
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps activities, request-response structures, error, and status codes
  • Solid understanding of SQL and scripting
  • Ability to build distributed systems for performance and scale testing
  • Experience building distributed systems for performance and scale testing and working with mid-tier caches such as Aerospike, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Hadoop, Cassandra, and Kafka
  • Extensive experience with Amazon AWS or similar cloud providers
  • Demonstrable experience with industry best practices in software development processes, including unit testing, OO design, code reviews, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux commands and shell scripts
  • Strong understanding of building and publishing POCs
  • Advanced coding and problem-solving skills
  • Nice to have some knowledge of performance and/or security testing
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
