Job description

A U.S.-based company that is utilizing state-of-the-art technology to develop an innovative business lending platform is looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining all pre-production and production environments. By facilitating greater money flow into businesses and the communities they support, the company is reimagining how business lending operates. The company has managed to secure more than £14.5mn during their Series A round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help in coordinating the efforts of Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Configuration, and DevSecOps, and develop solutions to operational pain areas
  • Support the culture of great service and delivery
  • Ensure the continuous improvement approach is effective
  • Take charge of mentoring and knowledge-sharing with other engineers on the team
  • Ongoing monitoring of the organization's application and infrastructure architecture, checking for performance, stability, and compliance
  • Maintain and contribute to the CI/CD pipelines
  • Independently plan and execute complicated tasks involving multiple platform elements, not only infrastructure, while making sure they are scalable, resilient, highly available, secure, backed up, testable, and tested as well as appropriately documented, monitored, and notified on
  • Automate all recurring procedures, onboard new platform users
  • Conduct routine maintenance and ad hoc investigation of environmental issues
  • Patch and upgrade all the components of the infrastructure

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a DevSecOps Engineer
  • Good knowledge of and expertise using AWS, particularly its services in the areas of computing, containers, databases, networking, storage, management & governance, and security & identity
  • Vast business experience and in-depth expertise in scaling up your knowledge of Kubernetes clusters
  • Expertise in implementing infrastructure and surrounding components in Terraform with a strong understanding of container runtimes, including security and performance considerations
  • Demonstrable experience monitoring infrastructure and applications deployed on it
  • Experience working with tools like Datadog, AppDynamics, Splunk, Sumo Logic, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic
  • Prior experience building pipelines in tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, Buildkite, GitHub Actions, and Harness 
  • Solid understanding of scripting languages like Bash, Go, and Python
  • Experience writing technical documentation for coworkers and the wider team
  • Fluent in conversational and written English communication skills
