Job description

This US-based client owns various e-commerce and web properties hosted across data centers and public clouds and is looking for an autonomous and senior DevOps engineer who is passionate about automation for both on-prem and cloud deployments. The talent will be part of a small team that manages the live sites as well as their development environments but will act as the main implementer of the company's current architectural roadmap for a large migration from Azure to AWS.  The talent will help architect, automate, and manage platforms for Engineers and Corporate users and focus on developing from scratch and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for various cloud and on-premise applications  


Required Skills 

  • 8+ years of experience in relevant field (System Administration, SRE, automation engineer ) 
  • 5+ years experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform Experience with Azure and other cloud providers 
  • Experience with CI/CD to multi-cloud and on-prem Strong proficiency in various web hosting technologies: IIS, Nginx, Apache Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, Debian, Centos) 
  • Experience supporting 24/7 e-commerce websites 
  • Understanding of best practices for DR, HA, and Fault-Tolerance in a K8s-based cloud deployment  

Bonus Skills 

  • Experience using configuration management tools like SaltStack, Ansible, or Puppet 
  • Experience with security standards such as CIS, NIST, or SANS Familiarity with using scripts and APIs as part of monitoring tools such as Zabbix 
  • Experience with SAML and specifically using Okta for SSO 
  • A clear understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, DNS, NTP, vLANs)  

Offer Details 

  • Long-term contractor position (no medical/paid leave) 
  • Full-time dedication (40 hours/week) 
  • REQUIRED: 6-hour overlap with PST (Pacific Time)

  • 2-step technical interview, with a take-home assignment
