Job description

A leading global connectivity provider for the Internet of Things is looking for a Senior Engineer with proven skills in DevOps and back-end development. The engineer will be responsible for building and improving the infrastructure, creating and maintaining documentation, among others. The company has built a robust Bluetooth Low Energy-powered network that helps companies and cities to connect and collect data from their devices, sensors, and more. This is a good opportunity for those who want to create a lasting impact in building new products and features at scale. It requires at least 4 hours of time overlap with the PST.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the engineering team to build and improve the infrastructure
  • Create and maintain documentation, write tests for back-end code and quality development
  • Architect, design, develop and deploy the infrastructure to support the biggest crowd sourced IoT network
  • Architect and build highly scalable databases able to ingest a real-time stream of gigabytes of data per day 
  • Build monitoring tools and make sure there are no downtime
  • Design and implement disaster recovery strategies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong programming knowledge with Golang/Python
  • Experience with cloud service providers such as GCP/AWS 
  • Proficient knowledge of relational and non-relational database (PostgreSQL, Redis, BigTable)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling
  • Successful track record of developing middleware solutions, with a strong focus on code quality, unit testing, integration testing, code quality analysis tools and API documentation.
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin and ElasticSearch is a plus
