Job description

A rapidly-growing company that has built a platform focused on industry-proven quality standards to guide users through all stages of the marketing and sales cycle is looking for a Senior Database Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding API endpoints to support a wide range of new features. Job Responsibilities:

  • Create brand-new tables, indexes, structures, and plans
  • Refactoring and optimizing existing architecture
  • Create and extend API endpoints to support a variety of new features
  • Maintain, optimize, and develop new features for the MYSQL back-end
  • Improve the performance of complex database queries
  • Create caching models for complex reporting needs
  • Where possible, migrate core functions to microservices
  • Recommend and implement architectural enhancements to allow applications to scale and add new functionality
  • Maintain the entire AWS instance
  • Handle a pipeline of features, enhancements, and bugs while adhering to agile development principles through bi-weekly sprints

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5 years of experience with MYSQL, including scratch architecture, heavy refactoring, and deep optimization for very large tables (100MM records)
  • Strong experience in Node.js
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Experience working with large amounts of frequently updated data and designing efficient schemas is nice to have
  • Experience with Apache, NGINX, HAProxy, and/or OpenResty
  • Experience with Linux systems and working knowledge of Git and GitHub
  • Knowledge of common web vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of other languages is beneficial
  • Excellent English communication skills 
  • Organized, self-starter, and detail-oriented
