Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company pioneering the development of real-time stateful server-less applications is looking for a Senior C++ Developer. The selected candidate will be in charge of developing cutting-edge geo-distributed cloud infrastructure software, as well as maintaining, securing, and growing it to suit the needs of the users. The company is on a mission to enable developers to build apps and APIs without any limitations of time, space, and cloud architectures. It has managed to raise more than $25mn during their Series A round of funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the next-generation low-latency, massively scalable, geo-distributed real-time data platform
  • Participate in all stages of product development, including system testing and performance evaluation
  • In a distributed, multi-threaded environment, focus on delivering the highest levels of robustness, performance, modularity, and simplicity
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure that design and development are on track and that the product goals and quality metrics are met
  • Make clear and concise documentation for all work done, such as architecture and design documents, code comments, technical notes, internal application notes, bug fixes, root cause analysis, and so on
  • As needed, collaborate with the automation team to assist with issue triage and resolution

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
  • Experience in data structures, distributed algorithms, and software design is required
  • Must have an experience in SQL compilation, parallel execution, query optimization, distributed transactions, data access methods, high availability and recovery, and cache hierarchies
  • Extensive experience developing concurrent server software in modern C++
  • Working knowledge of parallel and distributed algorithms for scaling systems
  • Programming, debugging, and performance investigation experience is required
  • Desire to create the best software possible within the constraints of the real-world
  • Excellent written and oral technical communication skills
