Job description

A U.S.-based company that is offering mobile-first financial services to under-represented customers in emerging markets, is looking for an SDET Back-End Automation Engineer. The selected candidate will be working together with the team manager and other important stakeholders to plan the rollout. The company is determined to revolutionize the financial industry by providing digital financial services that enable customers to gain financial independence. Job Responsibilities:

  • To construct and carry out test cases, one must comprehend the system or service design, project papers, client requirements, and product objectives
  • Create test scenarios and acceptance tests, as well as set up, maintain, and use test automation frameworks
  • Publish professional mocking services
  • Include the execution of automated tests in the software development process
  • Assist and work together with cross-functional teams including Product, Data, Credit, and Business Development to find opportunities for automation that would improve the product's quality
  • Manage, review, suggest, and put into practice modifications to the current frameworks, tools, and procedures
  • Examine the specifications of the requirements and give prompt, valuable feedback
  • Regularly check and maintain the test case coverage in our test management tool
  • Regulate the development and maintenance of post-production metrics
  • Enhance current procedures and practices by researching new tools, approaches, and trends.
  • Control the production release's final quality

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Prior experience as a QA automation engineer
  •  2+ years of experience in building automation frameworks for back-end services and API automation
  • Extensive programming abilities, including databases and automation systems
  • Knowledge of programming scripting languages such as Java and Kotlin
  • Thorough understanding of testing procedures, issue fixing, and application functions
  • Strong focus on the detail
  • 2+ years of experience designing test tools and frameworks utilizing Java, Groovy, Kotlin, Scala, Python
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, Shell Scripting, and Linux/Mac OSX for either back-end or front-end services
  • Nice to have some coding knowledge in any language
  • Ability to write code like mockup services or code to consume production services
  • Solid familiarity with design patterns like Singleton, Factory, and Builder, as well as basic complexity, systems, and services
  • Must be conceptually aware but need not necessarily create microservices
  • Demonstrable experience with the BDD testing paradigm and one of the Behavior Driven Testing frameworks, such as Cucumber, Spock, or JBehave
  • Nice to have some experience working within financial and payment applications/systems
  • Proficiency with the Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban Agile development processes is preferred
  • Outstanding intellectual and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
