Job description

A U.S.-based company that is leveraging the power of world-class technology to help customers access leading digital financial services, is looking for an SDET Back-End Automation Engineer. The selected candidate will be participating in cross-functional project teams to boost business growth. The company is utilizing mobile technology and data science to provide advanced solutions oriented around financial services in emerging markets. The company has managed to secure more than $369mn in funding so far. This position requires at least 4-6 hours of overlap with IST or EAT (East Africa) time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • In order to further improve the caliber of our product, assist and work together with cross-functional teams (Product, Data, Credit, and Business Development) to find automation opportunities
  • Maintain, review, suggest, and put into practice modifications to the current frameworks, tools, and procedures
  • Review the specifications of the need and give prompt, valuable input
  • Review test case coverage in our test management tool on a regular basis and keep it current
  • Take control of the creation and monitoring of the post-production metrics

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Prolific experience working with SDET 
  • Extensive experience with Kotlin, Java, QA, and Automation testing
  • Experience building test tools and frameworks using Groovy/Scala/Python, Jenkins, or similar CI-CD tools
  • Prior experience with Shell Scripting, Linux/ Mac OSX for either back-end or front-end services
  • Experience with microservice automation is desirable
  • Experience with the BDD testing paradigm and one of the Behavior Driven Testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Spock, or JBehave
  • Experience working in an Agile development process (Scrum/ Kanban/ Scrumban)
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication
