Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company that offers hardware, software, and service solutions that are utilized to build Internet networks and enable quick access to information, is looking for a Routing Protocol Developer. The developer will be responsible for constructing large-scale distributed systems while collaborating with open-source communities. The NASDAQ-listed company is undergoing a significant transition in order to create the next-generation infrastructure required to support AI/ML workloads and the continuously growing number of internet users and applications. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are eager to work with a multinational organization and quickly climb up the ladder. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the complete product development and manufacturing 
  • Build products by utilizing open-source technologies and pushing the frontiers of silicon architecture and system design
  • Implement and improve packet forwarding, networking, and routing
  • Take ownership of SONiC development work on distributed chassis debugging tools
  • Work with SONiC's portfolio platforms and distributed software infrastructure building blocks 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Routing Protocol Developer
  • 5+ years of experience with embedded software development and open-source technologies
  • Extensive working experience with Linux, Network Protocols, and Routing
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and multithreading 
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) 
  • Solid understanding of any silicon ASIC, IPv4 and IPv6 EVPN, and VXLAN segment routing 
  • Working knowledge of SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) and networking optimization
  • In-depth knowledge of silicon ASIC, v4 v6 EVPN, and VXLAN segment routing
  • Work on L2/L3 forwarding/feature development in SONiC
  • Strong understanding of OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), and IS-IS (Intermediate System- Intermediate System)
  • Prior experience with any link level or remote protocol development
  • Strong understanding of Control-plane with practical experience handling control plane packets
  • Extensive experience of DevOps with open-source CI/CD infrastructure 
  • Familiarity with LLDP, the notion of SAI, EVPN, and VXLAN
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
