Job description

A U.S.-based company that is reinventing the factory automation industry with some advanced solutions and technologies is looking for a Network Engineer. The selected candidate will be contributing largely to the existing team that is working on the platform’s system and distributed machine learning technologies. The company is introducing businesses to robotic workcells that tap into the power of modern AI technology and seamlessly fit into current workflows. During their Series A round, the company managed to raise more than $36mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of the trust networking virtual private cloud spanning on-premises to multi-cloud (AWS, S3, VPN, cloud LDAP, Vault, Terraform, private DNS, IP address allocation management, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the distributed learning pipeline (AWS, baremetal, Kubernetes, S3, Python, Docker, Terraform, etc.)
  • Sandbox and control rollout of system updates across a fleet of robotic systems (Ansible, Kubernetes, and AWS)
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and daily virtual standups 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and debugging issues
  • Demonstrable experience in SSL/VPN/cryptographic systems management 
  • Prior experience with container orchestration using modern configuration management tools (such as Kubernetes, Nomad, Ansible, Docker Swarm)
  • Solid experience building, releasing, and maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using modern configuration/scripting tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef)
  • Familiarity with formal release process, versioning, and CI/CD
  • Expertise in Python, Bash, Linux systems, networking, object stores (e.g., S3)
  • Attention to detail such as documentation, version control, and reproducibility
  • Experience in Scrum/Agile experience and/or training
  • Nice to have expertise with databases such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with the deployment of machine learning models
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
