Job description

An early-stage cutting-edge AI startup that focuses on personalized and conversational search is looking to hire a Mid-Level VR Developer. The developer will be responsible for both the planning and implementation, giving meaningful feedback on the vision of the future of the metaverse. The company is developing next-gen solutions with a dedicated team of scientists and friends obsessed with pushing the boundaries of AI. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small, agile, and creative team to build out the future of immersive experiences. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement core gameplay systems with the team 
  • Create systems and schemas to interpret data from the back-end to be used in the application
  • Work with the creative team to realize the aesthetic vision in the application without compromising performance
  • Take charge of planning UX for key application systems
  • Write clean, maintainable, and simple code
  • Track the development progress by promoting clear communication with the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science with emphasis on VR or multimedia front-end programming (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience with Unity 
  • Fluency in C# and strong 3D development fundamentals
  • Knowledge of the latest optimization tools to improve application performance on low-end hardware
  • Experience with optimizing for VR on low-end hardware
  • Extensive understanding of lighting systems and particularly how to achieve the desired lighting on low-end hardware
  • Experience with procedurally generated worlds and working with back-end systems
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code with good coding practices
  • Strong portfolio of VR applications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
