Job description

A rapidly growing, U.S.-based startup that is breaking new ground in the FinTech space by helping individuals take control of their finances, is looking for a Lead Web Back-End Engineer. The engineer would be responsible for leading the technical innovations and back-end engineering efforts for the company. The company is currently working on its goal to financially empower new investors by providing an easy and secure way to connect them with their personal finance team, financial advisors, spouses, partners, and roommates. This is a great opportunity for engineers who want to spearhead innovation and make their mark by building their own teams.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of new products and suggest new features in line with the company goal
  • Mentor junior engineers/developers by implementing company standards and ensuring follow through
  • Maintain and integrate existing tech with Plaid
  • Collaborate with front-end and features team to streamline server-side operations
  • Conduct unit/prototype testing and share robust feedback
  • Take cognizance of new tech and industry developments to help the company stay ahead of the curve

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-7+ years of relevant experience as a Web Back-End Engineer
  • Proficient with Google Cloud Compute, PostgreSQL, and Ruby on Rails
  • Demonstrable skill using Github, Devise, Plaid, and other BaaS APIs
  • Previous Experience using collaborative corporate tools such as Slack, Google Meet, Miro, Figma, and Google Suite
  • Great English communication skills, both verbal and written
