Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company that is accelerating the digital transformation for some of the world’s largest enterprises is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be expected to take ownership of the quality of the code they wrote even while it is running in production. The NYSE-listed company’s advanced technology makes it easier for businesses to sort through an ever-increasing volume of data to produce value and competitive difference. They have managed to securely raise around $1bn in funding so far. This role requires some overlap with the PST/EST time zones. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create data infrastructure software that is both dependable and scalable
  • Design and create services and system architecture for your projects
  • Engage with the team and share input with others
  • Improve code quality by writing unit tests, automating processes, and conducting code reviews
  • Contribute to the technology, algorithms, and products by brainstorming and developing ideas
  • Collaborate with product, design, and customer success teams to understand end-user needs, develop use cases, and transform them into practical technical solutions
  • Dive deep into complex technical problems and provide outcomes on time

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Prior experience working with a team of designers/engineers who reviewed each other's code/designs and held each other to an extremely high bar for quality 
  • Experience hosting service providers like Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes
  • Comfortable providing accurate estimates and sticking to the estimates
  • Experience writing unit tests and testable code
  • Prolific experience working with Node.js, Python, and Java 
  • Demonstrable experience participating in build and release processes, and depended on continuous integration
  • Experience building distributed systems/databases
