A U.S.-based company building an efficient AI-powered SaaS platform that enables businesses to tap into the limitless potentials of GeoAI applications is looking for a Back-End Scala Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of understanding user requirements and translating them into stable and high-performance software. The company is providing scalable geospatial analytics to businesses while leveraging talents across their organization. The company has managed to raise $16mn+ during their Series A round of funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical team members, maintaining openness to multiple viewpoints
  • Aptitude to learn new tools and paradigms quickly
  • Willingness to support maintainability through testing, dependency management, and repeatable builds
  • Participate in the daily team's on-call rotation

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2-5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of practical Scala development experience
  • Extensive experience in Scala, AWS, and Kubernetes
  • Ability to help define and refine REST and WebSocket APIs with front-end engineers
  • Nice to have experience with geospatial data
  • Solid understanding of best practices in deployment automation, web security, containerization, microservices architectures, and cloud computing services is a plus
  • Prior startup experience is nice to have
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
