Job description

A rapidly-growing company that supports the developer ecosystem, open-source, and cloud-native technologies is looking for a Back-End Ruby on Rails Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing the present system, identifying issues, and proposing a plausible solution. The company operates as the global leader in digital infrastructure while running over 200 data centers across the world and providing links to all major clouds and networks. This will be a long-term, full-time role that requires some overlap with the CST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance/replace the RoR API's networking APIs
  • RabbitMQ for background processing, partitioning the database model, and upgrading Rails versions
  • For a feature and several modules supported by unit and integration testing, write scripts and code
  • Have an understanding of the current system, identify any flaws, and offer a likely fix

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • 3+ years experience with Microservices
  • Familiarity with L2 L3 protocols
  • Knowledge of Go is a plus
  • Familiarity with networking concepts is a plus
  • Experience with Juniper and Arista is nice to have
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ and Kubernetes is desired
  • Experience with identity & access management systems is a plus
  • CI/CD knowledge is nice to have
  • Good English communication skills
