Job description

A NASDAQ-listed company helping businesses to implement robust and efficient digital infrastructure solutions is looking for a Back-End Ruby on Rails Engineer. The engineer must have extensive networking skills and be responsible for meeting technical quality standards. The company is on a mission to become the leading provider of cloud-native, open-source, and developer ecosystems. It has secured more than $1.2mn in funding so far. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the CST time zone and will be a long-term, full-time role. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade the Rails versions, split the database model for background processing
  • Add/modify networking APIs in our Ruby on Rails API, break the Ruby monolith
  • Work and deliver products in an agile environment
  • Design testable, secure, and maintainable features 
  • Help in adding/modifying networking APIs in the Ruby on Rails API

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails
  • Nice to have experience in networking or Network API integrations and in creating microservices.
  • Familiarity with L2 L3 protocols, and Juniper and Arista as their vendors
  • Prolific experience in Go is nice to have
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ, and Kubernetes (current environment is containerized), and ideally experience with identity & access management systems (like Auth0), and a focus on testing and CI/CDSolid expertise in Rails 
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable expertise in PPL with the latest Rails versions
