Job description

An NYSE-listed company that is determined to provide businesses and individuals with state-of-the-art insurance services is looking for an AWS Service Catalog Developer. The developer will be using Python scripting and CloudFormation to create and manage AWS Service Catalog portfolios, products, and provisioning. The company's supplemental insurance offers the insured an extra level of financial security in the case of a major accident or illness. This position requires 6-8+ hours of overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into AWS Service Catalog solutions by understanding their needs
  • Apply AWS CloudFormation templates to infrastructure as code (IaC) implementation
  • Using Python scripting, create, modify, and maintain AWS Service Catalog products
  • Automate deployments across many accounts and regions by utilizing AWS CloudFormation StackSets
  • Ensure that AWS Service Catalog offers adhere to governance, compliance, and security standards
  • Investigate and fix problems with Service Catalog provisioning and deployment
  • Keep abreast of AWS best practices and market trends to continuously improve your solutions


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive experience working as a AWS Service Catalog developer 
  • Prolific experience working with AWS CloudFormation
  • Must have AWS Certifications at an associate or higher level
  • Demonstrated experience with Python and using it to develop AWS Service Catalog products
  • Prior experience with AWS, along with a solid grasp of its many services and architectures
  • Strong familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) ideas
  • Nice to have some expertise using other AWS tools and services, like Lambda, Step Functions, and Service Catalog
  • Extensive familiarity with DevOps techniques and resources is desirable
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks is preferred
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a love of automation
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English communication skills
