Job description

An NYSE-listed company that has rewritten the history of the pharmaceutical industry with their century-long contribution to the field, is looking for an AWS Data Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for optimizing and troubleshooting data pipelines and data models. Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of data
  • Demonstrate a favorable attitude toward ongoing learning and a willingness to adopt new perspectives
  • Technical solutions should be documented and communicated to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Keep abreast of new AWS data technologies and assess how they may affect our current systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Extensive experience working with AWS, PostgreSQL, and Talend Open Studio
  • Familiarity with AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, and Snowflake is nice to have
  • Prior experience using multidimensional data modeling, data ingestion frameworks and tools (Talend), data mining, and segmentation techniques on three or four projects
  • Demonstrable experience building data apps using AWS Cloud Services and curating and creating data pipelines
  • Experience with Database programming at an advanced level (AWS Redshift, SQLDW, PostgreSQL, SQL expert)
  • Extensive knowledge of user-defined functions (UDF) and stored procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of data warehouse ideas and multidimensional modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake)
  • Strong background in data pipeline development in multi-cloud environments like AWS and Azure
  • Ability to communicate well with business users, Product Owners, and technical peers
  • Nice to have a solid familiarity with serverless architecture, such as Spark, Amazon Glue, and Lambda functions
  • Some experience with agile approaches and working in product development agile teams
  • Possess a high degree of independence and flexibility
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Solid experience working on multifunctional teams in the LATAM region is desirable
  • Some understanding of the Spanish or Portuguese language 
  • Excellent English communication skills, both conversational and written
