Job description

A US-based platform that boasts the largest collection of musical instruments and equipment is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. The engineer will help the existing team design the next generation of technologies that will awe and inspire millions of musicians and the thousands of people who support them daily. The company has over 250 locations across the country and serves as a one-stop-shop for all musical needs. So far, they have managed to secure $30mn+ in funding. This position requires some overlap with the PST time zone. The ideal candidate must be a team player and capable of working independently. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bring in fresh perspectives in leveraging modern technology
  • Deliver cloud-native, secure, scalable, and consumerized software capabilities to customers in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead from the front, demonstrate intellectual and emotional leadership and organize/plan/communicate gracefully amongst their IT and business peers
  • Lead through complex and/or competing priorities and negotiate win-win outcomes
  • Architect, design, and construct are examples of solution aspects derived from basic (or well-defined) objective/problem formulations
  • Take a product-oriented approach to your work
  • Engage in iterative development at a fast pace; architect, design, prototype (front/back-end), launch, and repeat
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and manage software products and features
  • Strategize, communicate priorities, and manage deadlines/deliverables with leadership
  • Develop telemetry/monitoring, resilience, and security into the DNA of every product
  • Create and implement visually stunning front-ends with feature-rich capabilities in a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of experience working with full-stack cloud-native development on AWS, including architecture and design
  • 3+ years experience in two or more of the following domains: Web/Omni-channel/Retail Applications, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC, B2C), and Digital Transformation
  • Core competency in JavaScript, React, jQuery/Angular, Typescript, or other modern web development platforms
  • Good knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility
  • Extensive experience working with Python and Java
  • Experience with APIs like REST, JSON
  • Demonstrable experience with databases like SQL / NoSQL
  • Experience with Agile environment, DevOps, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and TDD/BDD
  • Sound expertise to deliver enterprise-grade software and digital products in a fast-paced environment
