Job description

A US-based multi-national code hosting provider that enables developers to build software for open-source and private projects in the organization is looking for a Linux Administrator. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling various operations in their technical support team. The company’s platform is used by close to $100 mn+ users to build amazing projects across 150 mn+ repositories. It has raised more than $300 mn in funding so far. This will be a nice opportunity to work in a well-established company and rise quickly through the ranks.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in fine-tuning performance and ensuring Linux infrastructure availability
  • Create infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
  • Manage and keep configuration management solutions up to date
  • In conjunction with the rest of the team, create test automation frameworks
  • Develop tools to assist teams in making the most of the available infrastructure

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of experience in positions related to customer advocacy and/or technical implementation/systems management
  • Knowledge of performing Linux system administration and working experience with common tools like Docker, systemd, OpenSSL, etc.
  • Familiarity with some flavor of production-level virtualization platforms and/or cloud providers like VMware ESX, KVM, AWS, and Azure
  • Deep knowledge of Git, GitLFS, and GitHub is highly desirable
