Job description

A fast-growing company developing an innovative AI-powered analytics platform to enable customers and partners to optimize energy use is looking for a Test Automation Engineer. The selected candidate will report to the head of software development management and communicate with various stakeholders to align delivery timelines with the overall business strategies. The NYSE-listed company is lowering energy costs and ensuring that businesses and their facilities have the power they need. This will be a full-time position. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the test-automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines integration, and product testing 
  • Define and maintain test plans for functions, integration and performance testing, manual execution of test cases, and reporting product failures
  • Conduct review and sign-off for test plans and use cases and build consensus with relevant stakeholders 
  • Lead automated testing efforts for specific areas of functionality
  • Own and deliver design, development, and maintenance of automated tests
  • Communicate test coverage and anomalies to stakeholders and aid in making necessary decisions to certify releases
  • Take ownership of product module QA efforts
  • Work closely with engineering teams to analyze and resolve product defects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • A minimum of 5+ years of QA experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and testing scalable, distributed, fault-tolerated web based applications
  • A minimum of 2+ years of practical experience in automation tools required (Selenium/Python)
  • Prior experience working in Cloud based development environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Solid background in backend/data testing
  • Proven experience creating complex data sets for testing
  • Practice a data-driven approach for test case design and execution
  • Proven experience in all areas of product testing, both manual and automation
  • Scripting language expertise in Shell, Perl, Python, or equivalent
  • Excellent analysis, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a consistent test methodology and resolve questions and ambiguities
  • Passion for quality assurance of end-user applications
  • Nice to have experience working in environments that leverage machine learning techniques
  • Experience in using Docker or Kubernetes is a plus 
  • Experience using the Agile development environment
  • Demonstrable experience working with tools like PostMan, or Jupyter Notebooks
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
