Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company developing cloud-based desktop app management services is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator. The selected candidate should be capable of switching tasks quickly while working in an agile environment. The company is developing specialized solutions that facilitate the delivery of virtual desktop services without any complicated infrastructure or integration. This will be a long-term full-time position requiring 6+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the Linux systems that support the virtual desktop streaming environments
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Linux applications deployed inside containerized environments like Kubernetes
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to switch tasks quickly if needed
  • Learn and work with new and emerging technologies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Ability to use configuration management as code such as Terraform, Saltstack, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience in using containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Prior experience in Postgres/MySQL, Tomcat, Nginx/Haproxy, etc.)
  • Experience in Scripting such as Python, Bash, Perl, etc.)
  • Nice to have experience in CI/CD experience (Gitops/ArgoCD)
  • Experience in Minio / S3 administration is preferred 
  • Demonstrable experience in Cloud vendors: AWS and Azure is a plus 
  • Experience in Elasticsearch management
  • Experience in Opentelemetry/Jaeger Tracing is nice to have 
  • Workable experience in WAF monitoring and administration
  • Experience in Linux Desktop administration 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
