Job description

A US-based company helping farmers save time and grow sales by managing inventory online and automating orders is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer. The selected candidate will be in charge of creating and maintaining automated testing frameworks. The company is building efficient software and services to help farmers increase sales, access more customers, and save time. The company has securely raised more than $16mn in funding so far.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans and test cases that are detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured
  • Examine requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and relevant feedback
  • Assist the development team in implementing the Test Driven Development methodology
  • Plan and coordinate testing activities, identifying and documenting bugs thoroughly
  • Create and run automation scripts with open source tools
  • Organize processes and products to meet the needs of clients
  • Work with internal teams (for example, developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Examine the debugging process results
  • Maintain an eye on quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts
  • Investigate the root causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of new testing tools and strategies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a QA Engineer
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks is a must
  • Must have experience working in software development teams and using software QA methodologies and tools
  • Solid experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases is a must
  • Significant experience with both white box and black box testing is required
  • Experience with automated testing tools is required
  • Good knowledge of SQL and scripting is a must
  • Understanding Agile/Scrum development principles is a must
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is nice to have
