Job description

A well-established company that has developed some of the world’s highest-grossing dating apps with millions of users worldwide is looking to hire a Mobile Android Developer. The developer will own and drive technical projects from specification through to delivery and beyond. The company focuses on building a world where all relationships are healthy and equitable while flipping the traditional gender norms. The selected candidate will work in a high-impact role, building products that impact several users. This role requires a time overlap with the US or London time zones and is suitable for those who want to solve challenges at scale.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Critically look into product specifications, design implementations, write code and rapidly deliver Android app feature designs
  • Contribute technical ideas and suggestions to enhance the direction of the product
  • Write test cases and work with teams on the release cycle
  • Work within an agile team on daily standups and weekly planning meetings
  • Maintain build systems and write unit tests
  • Analyze analytics and performance metrics to draw conclusions and advocate change

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience using Kotlin for Android development
  • Track record of working on Android published applications
  • Experience with Java and working on consumer-facing, mass-market applications is nice to have
  • Product-focused Android application development proficiency
  • Possess a strong portfolio of consumer-facing high-performance Android applications already in the market
  • Advanced expertise in Android SDK/Kotlin 
  • Good understanding of Android API capabilities at different levels
  • Familiarity with design patterns and OOP
  • Passionate about teamwork in an AGILE/Scrum environment
  • Competency in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, threading, and other computer science foundations 
  • Excellent communication skills and strength in team-working 
  • Willingness to learn, rapt attention to detail, and a passion for quality
