Job description

An emerging start-up building a purpose-driven edtech solution that empowers higher education to build better online curriculums is looking for a Full-stack Engineer. The candidate will contribute to building the next generation of educational technology and be responsible for the overall growth and success of the products. The company is led by industry professionals including an online learning expert and a university professor who recognized the need for better edtech tools to build and scale effective learning experiences. Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommend strategic solutions as part of a long term technical vision
  • Supercharge the current product and build additional products from the ground up with the freedom to innovate
  • Collaborate with a fully remote, highly motivated team of professionals passionate about building better edtech solutions
  • Play a key role in translating best practices in instructional design into software

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in React, Typescript/Javascript, Java, and MongoDB
  • Ability to write clean, performant, maintainable code and APIs
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of design and fundamentals of user experience
  • Capability to build new skills quickly and put them into practice
  • Team-minded, mission-driven, and focused on building outstanding and game-changing products
  • Experience developing and deploying on cloud infrastructure (especially AWS) is nice to have
  • Experience with game design, education and instructional design
  • Experience in Scala, deep learning, AI, or NLP
  • Experience with major online education platforms or LMS-es
