Job description

A US-based fintech startup that aims to help billions of people with viable credit infrastructure, is looking for a Data Scientist. The data scientist will be working on the lifecycle of data, and collaborating with the data team and technical CEO to measure where the firm stands and help them to reach the company goals. The company is on a mission to serve the world’s emerging middle class with access to affordable credit. The company has raised $2.9mn in funding so far. This will be a nice opportunity for data scientists to collaborate with a team to provide access to finance through a collection of diverse skill sets working together to provide value to the customers.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements for the users and the health of the company
  • Maintain the lifecycle of data within the organization
  • Collaborate with the existing data team members and technical CEO to measure existing performance and help them reach the overall company goals
  • Understand business challenges and opportunities related to product or service related improvements
  • Resolve identified issues using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Take charge of data cleaning and wrangling, quantitative analysis, and data mining tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or Ph.D. with a focus in Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience as a data scientist
  • Should possess in-depth knowledge of  machine learning, data analysis, and data engineering in production
  • Experience in developing applications on GCP
  • In-depth knowledge of Python-based data processing and machine learning frameworks is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform quantitative data analysis, write reports, and present findings
  • In-depth knowledge of algorithms, R&D, pipeline engineering, analytics, and dashboarding
  • Must be able to communicate results of analysis to product or leadership teams to influence the strategy
  • Must be good at communication with fluency in English
